The International Centre for Leadership Results in collaboration with Gettysburg College Centre Offerings ![]() Leadership cannot be taught, but it can be learned. Summary The International Centre for Leadership Results fosters positive, measurable change through conscious choice and action. In service of this goal, the Centre combines innovative programs, extraordinary learning opportunities, and stimulating cohorts of peers in a multi-dimensional learning-and-action methodology. The results enhance both individual leadership abilities and the creative connection between leaders and the organizations they serve. The Centre deploys its methodology in four kinds of programs:
Centre Fellowships Centre Fellowship programs offer a unique opportunity to enter a year-long, focused program emphasizing leadership learning and action in any quarter of the annual calendar. Fellows join the Centre as individuals, teams or cohorts. By remaining fully involved in their positions during their Fellowship year, Fellows are able to apply Centre learning in real time and real situations, thus maximizing personal and organizational effectiveness. The Centre also offers Alumni Fellows a range of opportunities to continue their personal and organizational growth in collaboration with the Centre. Fellowship Cohorts: Working in cohorts allows each Fellow to benchmark highly effective individuals and organizations, create and enrich links to growth, and take ownership and responsibility for personal leadership learning, decisions, and results. Cohorts may bring together Fellows from a single organization, industry, market or sector to focus on issues relevant to the sponsoring organization. Through the full range of Fellow experiences, a designed cohort can shape learning and action to a well-defined set of strategic challenges, tools and work products. Other cohorts may bring together cross-sector Fellows who might not otherwise have encountered one another, opening new perspectives that often lead to extraordinary mutual enrichment. Individuals may request to create or join a cohort of people with shared interests or a need to explore similar initiatives of change and development. Activities & Tools: While cohorts learn and act together, they also interact with other cohorts in periodic 'big-tent' Centre events. Program activities are based on intense periodic contact for 24 days during the annual calendar. Structured around these events, a variety of peer and guided learning opportunities bring Fellows into collaboration with experts, leaders, and creative thinkers in the areas of their concentration. Between these events, the Centre continues to guide Fellows using fully-facilitated online meeting and collaboration spaces for peer communication, cohort creativity and continuing interactive stimulation. Distinguished presenters and coaches also join with cohorts in these online meeting spaces, allowing Fellows to turn real-time collaboration into in-place effectiveness in their agency or company positions. Alumni: Centre Alumni provide a unique and key benefit during the Fellowship year by providing a senior level of available expertise. In turn, Alumni benefit from access to programs focused on their needs, interaction with oncoming cohorts, and an ever-growing set of both online and real-time Alumni opportunities. Leadership Coaching, Maturity & Support The Centre offers opportunities for leadership growth through exploration, guidance, action, and reflection. Working with leaders, we benchmark highly effective individuals and organizations, create links and encourage individuals to take ownership and responsibility for their leadership choices and results. Workshops & Action-Empowering Events Using innovative group processes, leading-edge tools, and the talents and experience of our team, the Centre organizes focused, customized workshops and other events that help individuals and organizations move both their ideas and their desired outcomes from vision to reality. New Technology Seminars & Initiatives New technologies of information and communications are key leadership tools for the new century. The Centre's Social Computing Team develops opportunities, infrastructure and initiatives that enable organizations and individuals to use these tools in service of their mission. Centers of Access & Influence A strategic benefit to Centre Fellows is their access to trailblazing individuals and organizations working at the heart of the very issues their own organizations face. Centre Sustainability Leadership Fellows, for example, will interact strategically with leading organizations and influential individuals in the global sustainability movement, including the US Partnership for the Decade of Education for Sustainability, a United Nations global initiative beginning in January 2005.
